The 3M™ Cubitron™ II Sanding Tape 984F is a specially designed and revolutionary high and low medium pressure fabric based tool sharpening belt utilizing the 3M Cubitron II precision shaped ceramic grit. Thanks to this invented technology and the developed abrasive material, it provides a high machining speed for sharpening tools and uniform cutting through the material. In the process of grinding tools is self-sharpening abrasive grains, which provides a constant aggressiveness of the cutting and remain sharp throughout the long life of the abrasive without overheating the surface of the sharpening.

The abrasive used for the grinding belt is a mixture of fine-grain aluminum oxide and coarse-grain 3M Precision Ceramic Grain. This results in high productivity in sharpening tools and economic efficiency for medium-force sharpening.

Suitable, depending on the choice of grit, for sharpening tools requiring high metal removal at high and low average pressures with a high belt life, to process more tools and spend less time on belt changes. Suitable for sharpening carbon steels, cobalt-chrome alloys, any metals and alloys - from aluminum and copper to stainless steel and titanium kitchen, carving, table, chef knives; tourist, hunting knives. The 984F 3M Cubitron II grinding belt has different fabric backings for different grit sizes:

P60 - in coarse grit are made on a rigid YF density fabric base.

It has a moderately flexible base and is suitable for sharpening tools with small bends and flat surfaces.

The backing of the grinding belt consists of water-resistant polyester tape, which makes it possible to sharpen tools by both dry and wet grinding.

It is recommended to buy and use sanding belts of different grit sizes for high-quality sharpening.
