Description Barber's scissor blade straightener
The bronze pick is designed for straightening hairdressing scissor blades.
One edge of the hammer has a wide bluntness for coarse work, to form an overall gap in hairdressing scissors.
The other edge with a narrow bluntness is for pinpointing and eliminating interception.
Correct curvature of the blades creates tension when clamping, which allows the entire length of the cutting edge to be cut.
The curvature is checked on a ruler, revealing the gap.
The barber scissors blade should be placed with the heel on the edge of the ruler. If no gap is formed when pressing on the hinged part - the bend is correct, straightening is not required.
If the distance from the top of the scissor blade to the interception is more than 5 mm, straightening is necessary when checking the blade on the ruler.
If the gap is not correct, the barber scissors will not cut, no matter how sharp the cutting edges are.
Straightening is important during the transition from the ruler to the water stone. By restoring the correct clearance, we ensure proper cutting with barber scissors.
