Scotch-Brite polishing wheel - a wheel of non-woven abrasive nylon material consisting of threads, abrasives and binder, connected together without the use of weaving techniques.
Polishing wheel Scotch-Brite is designed for rough treatment of all metals kitchen, carving, dining, cooking; tourist, hunting knives, especially stainless steel and non-ferrous metals. It provides a clean surface with a homogeneous texture with easy removal of material and allows you to remove defects before the next stage of processing for soft finishing, cleaning and finishing operations. Therefore it is recommended to additionally purchase polishing consumables with finer grit for the following processing steps on our website.
The polishing wheel is molded from polymer material. Throughout the entire volume of the polymeric base of the wheel abrasive grains of mineral, characterized by high wear resistance and having sharp cutting edges, are evenly distributed. This mineral accounts for the aggressive cutting properties of the filaments, which seem so incongruous with the softness and flexibility of their polymeric filaments. As a result, the threads allow you to quickly remove not only a variety of dirt from surfaces, rust, scale and tarnish colors, but also burrs and other similar defects, as well as old hard-to-remove coatings, adhesives and paint.
Polishing wheel does not change its cutting properties as it works and provides constant quality from the beginning of use to full wear, because the surface treatment is not made by the fibrous bristles themselves, but by abrasive grains that are inside the polymer.
The surface treatment with abrasive filaments requires virtually no pressure on the tool to achieve maximum performance. The sharpening technician is less fatigued and the load on the machine is not increased.
Optimal performance with low tool pressure is achieved by the high rotational speed and continuous renewal of the sharp abrasive grains on the working surface of the threads. The high concentration of abrasive particles, allows a clean and even surface with a homogeneous structure. At the same time, depending on the grit used, a beautiful satin finish or an excellent matt surface with a very fine ridge can be obtained, ready for polishing. Flexibility and elasticity of the abrasive threads determine another functional feature of this abrasive tool - the possibility to process embossed surfaces, parts with complex profiles and hard-to-reach areas.
The polishing wheel is an excellent choice for easy deburring and blending, as it provides a uniform, uniform finish. The edge of the wheel can be machined to effectively deburr, finish and polish all metal alloys.
